Yuanxiao Festival, a.k.a. Lantern Festival, has been celebrated over a thousand years in Chinese cultures. It is considered as the end of the Lunar New Year and the beginning of the Spring.
Glutinous rice balls is a traditional beloved food of the Lantern Festival. For many Asian, we believed that the round shape of the rice balls has a special meaning of reunion and completeness. Therefore, when we eat rice balls, the consumption actually enables us a peaceful year.
